Dream School Admission April 9 This is a favorite time of year for us at Ivy Coach, when our students and their parents reflect on gaining admission to their dream colleges. Every year around this time, we are besieged with wonderful notes. These notes come from the parents and students whom we have worked with over the course of the past months and, in some cases, years as they navigated the highly selective college admissions process to achieve admission to their dream schools. These notes are our absolute favorites. They are validating. They make us feel good. We played a role in helping students gain admission to their dream colleges and its work were mighty proud to do. Indeed, weve been mighty proud to do this work for the last quarter century at Ivy Coach. But more than hearing the satisfying, exciting results, hearing from the students and parents themselves reminds us each and every year why we love doing what we do. As a business, we so very much wish that we could share these notes on our website. They are indeed shining testaments to Ivy Coachs services. Sexual Assault Among Male And Female Students Essay

The alarming increase in sexual assault among male and female students is a source of concern. Despite improvements in the general statistics on rape cases, the college setting remains to be the hot bed of sexual assault, especially among the female counterparts (Allen, 2007). A victim, regardless being a male or a female, never feel safe in their life as something precious was taken from them once. Statistics show that 17.6% of women are likely to be victims of rape in their entire lifetime while only 0.3% of males are estimated to be the victims of sexual assault. According to the National Violence Against Women Survey (NVAWS), the most critical ages men and females are likely to be engaged in sexual abuse is when they are children or adolescents (Gonzales, Schofield Schmitt, 2006). Theories on rapes Researchers have come up with various explanations trying to explain the sexual abuse cases in the globe. Some of these explanations form a basis on psychological perspectives, biolo gical perspectives, and criminal perspectives. Despite these differences, rape cases are considered a violation of an individual right and the traumatizing effects are reported to be similar. Social Work is a profession that offers therapy, evaluation, intervention and treatment for anyone who needs it. Support services are also offered to individuals, families, couples, or anyone who is dealing with psychosocial issues. Services are also for people that require assistance obtaining social and health services. The practice of social work is guided by knowledge of social systems, human behavior and social resources, and is strictly regulated to protect the health, safety and welfare of people. I would love to have a career in social work. I was not sure on the career field I wanted to be in, but has I research more and conducted interviews in this field , I’m sure of where I want to be. Though I had the basic knowledge about the profession in social work, doing more research I came to a conclusion that seeking a career in this field is best for me. A Social worker is more than just a professional that helps people, but they also improve lives. The thought of helping people/children delight me in such a way that being in this field will bring me a rewarding feeling.
